The MN Cybersecurity Professionals Group is holding its next quarterly meeting at Manny’s Steakhouse located at 825 S Marquette Avenue, Minneapolis. We’re meeting on Thursday May 3rd from 11:30 – 1:30. The upscale venue and lunch is provided courtesy of the sponsor, but registration is required (see below).
Keynote: The keynote presentation features guest speaker Brian Johnson – Founder of 7 Minute Security/Podcaster and Security Engineer Brian Johnson is a security engineer for 7 Minute Security, which specializes in security assessments, penetration testing and training. He is especially passionate about sharing knowledge, and hosts a weekly blog/podcast to help consumers and businesses strengthen their security posture. When he isn’t camped out behind a keyboard, he enjoys outdoor activities with his family, as well as singing and playing guitar in an acoustic duo.
Our companies continue to get breached because we’re still not getting some of the security basics right. The good news is we don’t always have to buy an expensive software/hardware solution for every one of our technical security needs. Instead, by making some minor tweaks to our servers and implementing some free/open-source tools, we can gain a great amount of insight into what’s going on in our network – and even stop threats
Roundtable: The keynote presentation will be followed by a moderated roundtable discussion lead by an industry expert.
Registration: Seating is limited and registration is required. You’re welcomed to bring a colleague, or send delegates from your department, but anyone who wishes to attend must register here: https://www.oneidentity.com/event/security-lunch-discussion-minneapolis-minn8131225/
